MOT Preparation
All commercial vehicles and trailers require an annual test to ensure their roadworthiness. At our workshop in Frome, we have all the necessary facilities to conduct MOT test preparation for all classes of commercial and heavy goods vehicles. If your vehicle’s annual MOT is due, get in touch with us to book a pre-test inspection to see what preparation work will be required to help it pass. We can also book your MOT test with the local Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) test station for you.
If your vehicle has failed its MOT, get in touch and we will be able to conduct all necessary work to get it ready for a re-test.
According to the Government gateway website, the following vehicles must all take the ‘annual test’:
- Goods Vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3,500kg
- Vehicles that are built or have been adapted to form part of an articulated vehicle
- Semi-trailers
- Horseboxes with a gross weight of more than 3,500kg
- ‘A’ frame trailers and converter dollies manufactured on or after 1 January 1979
- Trailers with an unladen weight of more than 1,020kg with powered braking systems (instead of standard overrun brakes and as well as the required parking brake)
- All public service vehicles with more than 8 passenger seats – not including the driver’s seat.
